2026 Chinese Grand Prix: Antonelli's Triumph and Drama on the Shanghai Circuit

The second round of the 2026 Formula 1 season, the Chinese Grand Prix, took place at the Shanghai International Circuit on March 15. Italian driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli of the Mercedes team claimed his first career victory, finishing first after 56 intense laps. His teammate George Russell finished second, just 5.515 seconds behind. Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton rounded out the top three, 25.267 seconds behind.

The race was full of surprises: four-time champion Max Verstappen of the Red Bull team retired 10 laps from the finish due to engine problems, and several drivers were unable to start.
